The AIDS Committee of Guelph & Wellington County continues to respond to HIV and AIDS in our community. The ACG also responds to the issue of Hepatitis C in our community. They assist individuals and communities to manage the social effects of HIV and Hepatitis C. ACG collaborates with communities to deliver prevention and education programs to populations at-risk and we offer care and support to people living with HIV and Hepatitis C and those at risk. We support people living with HIV and AIDS and their families, friends and caregivers throughout the progression of the disease.

Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE)

The Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) is Canada's largest union. With around 627,000 members across Canada, CUPE represents workers in health care, education, municipalities, libraries, universities, social services, public utilities, transportation, emergency services and airlines. CUPE is committed to improving the quality of life for workers in Canada. They did so to have a stronger voice - a collective voice - in their workplace and in society as a whole.

Guelph Queer Equality (GQE)

Guelph Queer Equality provides a safe space and supportive environment for all people in the trans, bisexual, lesbian, and gay community. Guelph Queer Equality events are not restricted to the University Community, they are open to people from the Guelph Community in general. Programming and Services include: Lending Library (books and magazines), Social events on Tuesday nights (check Facebook page for times and topics), and Advocacy and awareness campaigns, Pamphlets and information.

Guelph Resource Centre for Gender Empowerment and Diversity (GRCGED)

GRCGED is a student funded, collectively run resource centre for people of all or no genders. They advocate anti-oppression issues within a feminist framework, recognizing that issues of gendered oppression consist of struggles against all systems of domination. They offer a relaxing, comfortable space where you can use their microwave and/or chat with their friendly volunteers and staff. They provide resources and support for students, staff, faculty and community members, who can use our extensive library, computers and other accessible technologies, buy traditional and alternative menstrual products, attend our workshops and other public events, or become a trained volunteer or collective member. If you are in crisis, you can also access peer support, referrals and a private room.

Human Rights and Equity Office (HREO)

The role of the Human Rights and Equity Office is to help maintain an environment within which all persons, regardless of their personal characteristics, feel that they are treated with dignity and respect. Their staff, together with a large number of interested University community members, work toward meeting the University's commitment to protecting and upholding the human rights of every individual and to providing special programs to end the effects of historical disadvantage and to achieve equity in all areas of University life.

Out On The Shelf (OOTS)

Out On The Shelf is a library and resource centre for the LGBTTTSIQQ communities and allies. The centre is staffed regularly so that the community can come and access books, find out about the diverse range of events, resources and services and share a queer friendly space.

OUTline

OUTline seeks to provide peer support and information services on issues relating to sexual orienation and gender diversity to all individuals and families in the University of Guelph and surrounding community, especially those in the early stages of the coming-out experience and those most at risk. OUTline offers a number of services including a support phone line, a confidential online Q & A Blog, awareness events, and support and training to various organizations.

PaTio

The paTio is a confidential, non-judgmental group for trans, genderqueer or questioning people and SOFFAs (Significant Others, Friends, Family and Allies) to meet and share resources, stories, experiences and support.

SpeakOUT

Speak OUT is a program run out of the Wellness Centre dealing with lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered issues. This program brings together LGBTQ students and allies in educating and confronting homophobia on campus through awareness programming to help make our campus a positive space. Speak OUT involves student facilitators leading workshops to encourage participants to think critically about homophobia and heterosexism.

The Wellness Centre

The Wellness Centre is an educational resource centre on a wide range of topics inluding physical and mental health, body image, addictions, sexuality, human rights and self-care. The Centre takes pride in being very inclusive with its information, and has many resources on all topics with specific interest to the LGBTIQQ2 community. The Wellness Centre is a department within Student Health Services. Programming and Services offered by the Wellness Centre: Free condom and lube distribution, Resources Materials (pamphlets, brochures), Workshops, Support Materials for Residence Assitants, Awareness Campaigns, and Special Events.

Women in Crisis

Guelph-Wellington Women in Crisis is a feminist community-based organization providing services to women and their children on woman abuse and sexual violence. They believe their services must be inclusive and equitable for all individuals accessing their programs while being responsive to issues of race, gender, religion, age, sexual orientation, socio-economic status and/or abilities. Their programs include: Marianne's Place (shelter), Rural Women's Support Program (RWSP), Sexual Assault Centre (SAC), Transitional and Housing Support Program (THSP), and the 24-hour Crisis Line.

Equality for Gays and Lesbians Everywhere (EGALE)

Egale Canada Human Rights Trust (ECHRT) is Canada's only national charity promoting lesbian, gay, bisexual, and trans (LGBT) human rights through research, education and community engagement. Egale's vision is of a Canada free of homophobia, biphobia, transphobia and all other forms of discrimination so that every person can achieve their full potential, unencumbered by hatred and bias. Their mission and values help pave the way for their vision to become reality.

International Lesbian and Gay Association (ILGA)

ILGA's aim is to work for the equality of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and intersex people and their liberation from all forms of discrimination. They seek to achieve this aim through the world-wide cooperation and mutual support of our members.

Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG)

PFLAG Canada is a national charitable organization, founded by parents who wished to help themselves and their family members understand and accept their non-heterosexual children. The "coming-out" process can be a critical time for families. When the adjustment period is particularly long or painful, relationships can become permanently damaged, resulting in a lifetime of emotional scars. People cannot always rise above the challenge of accepting themselves or their family member, and the results can be devastating, even fatal. They support these families through today and give them hope for a better tomorrow.

Rainbow Health Ontario (RHO)

The Rainbow Health Ontario website is designed to provide information to help both LGBT people and their health care providers become more aware of LGBT health issues: To learn more about specific LGBT health issues affecting the LGBT communities, To find information about LGBT health resources such as brochures, research reports, training materials and websites from Ontario, Canada and around the world, To find out about training and education for service providers, To read about LGBT health research and policy issues, and To get definitions for the different terms used by LGBT communities.

Youth Line

The Lesbian Gay Bi Trans Youth Line is a toll-free service provided by youth for youth. They offer support, information and referrals specific to your concerns.
