Guelph Pride Week 2013 is HERE!



Flag Raising Ceremony
Monday May 6 / 12noon-1pm
Market Square, 1 Carden St.
Bus Route: Any downtown bus
Join us for this year's Flag Raising Ceremony at City Hall where we expect to have Guelph's Mayor, Mayor Karen Farbridge, and University of Guelph President Alastair Summerlee speak in support of Guelph Pride Events. A number of community organizations will also be present to show their support including OUTline, the AIDS Committee of Guelph, Out On The Shelf, and CUPE Local 973.

Out On The Shelf Open House
Monday May 6 / 4-9pm
Out On The Shelf, 141 Woolwich St. Unit 106 (Matrix building facing Eramosa rd. - look for sandwich board)
Bus Route: 13 Victoria Road Recreation Centre
Following the Flag Raising Ceremony, Out On The Shelf will be open all night long for a casual hangout event! Meet with the Guelph Pride Committee, the Out On The Shelf Board of Directors, friends and other community members. Light food will be served and there will be lots of fun activities to take part in.

Guelph Pride Exhibit Opening
Tuesday May 7 / 6pm
Guelph Civic Museum, 52 Norfolk St.
Bus Route: Any downtown bus
In Collaboration with the City of Guelph and Guelph Museums, Guelph Pride has put together an exhibit profiling the LGBTQ History of Guelph and Canada. The exhibit entitled, Coming Out: A Look at Queer Political and Social History of Guelph, will describe the history of LGBTQ services at the University of Guelph and in the Guelph Community. More specifically, the exhibit will outline the history of both Guelph Pride events and Out On The Shelf. A timeline showcasing the LGBTQ political history of Guelph will also be available for patrons to check out. The exhibit will remain in the Guelph Civic Museum until late summer.

Sexuality Forum
Wednesday May 8 / 1-2:30pm

Evergreen Seniors Centre
Are you curious about what sexual orientation is? Come to this event to have your questions answered! This event is intended to dispel the myths behind sexual orientation and to open discussion/define sexual orientation. This will be an open discussion event so bring any and all questions!

Movie Madness Event
Wednesday May 8 / 8-11pm
Ed Video, 40 Baker St.
Bus Route: Any downtown bus
This year's movie event is going to be the most awesome yet! Two secret short films will be played followed by our feature film, City Island. This year's theme is SECRETS. Light food and popcorn will be served.

Pride Rock
Thursday May 9 / 8-11pm
Red Papaya, Old Quebec Street Mall
Bus route: Any downtown bus
Check out some of Guelph's hottest new bands! This event will feature the Durants, Anita Cazzola, Straight to the Forest, and Alex and the Still Nothing! We will be charging a $5.00 cover charge at the door. This event is all ages. Its going to be awesome - don't miss it!

Teen Pride Night
Friday May 10 / 7-11pm
Woodlawn Bowl, 253 Woodlawn Rd. W.
Bus Route: 2A, 2B, 20
This year, Guelph Pride, in collaboration with the City of Guelph, invites you for some awesome free bowling and free food! Come by yourself or bring your friends! This event is going to be our best teen event yet!

Queer Cabaret
Friday May 10 / 9pm
E-Bar, 41 Québec St.
Bus Route: Any downtown bus
Doors Open at 8pm
Cover Charge: $5
*Please note that this venue is not accessible*
A night of queer performances from burlesque dancers, drag queens and kings, performance poets and musicians. DJs will get us dancing between performance sets! 19+

Guelph Pride Family Event
Saturday May 11 / 1-4pm
Community Room 2, West End Community Centre, 21 Imperial Rd. S.
Bus Route: 10, 9, 2a, 2b
This year's family event is Medieval Theme! Bring your family to this event for fun indoor/outdoor activities including cupcake decorating, fun pictures, arts and crafts led by the Guelph School of Art, fun games, and free food! At the end, we will also be showing our feature film.

Guelph Pride Dance
Saturday May 11 / 9pm-1am
Holiday Inn, 601 Scottsdale Dr.
Bus Route: 8, 2a, 2b, 1a, 1b, 6, 15,
Come celebrate Guelph Pride's 10th Anniversary at our Annual Guelph Pride Dance. Join DJ Dallas and other performers as they keep you dancing until the night ends! Enjoy some awesome tunes and delicious food. This year's theme is Diamonds are a Queen's Best Friend; so the dance will be semi-formal. There will also be door prizes and a 50-50 draw. Tickets are $10 in advance (at Out On The Shelf), $15 at the door, or $5 for students with a valid student card. This is a night you don't want to miss! 19+
